Today was not such a hot day for Ellie. She didn't feel good all day and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Her temperature was up a little, and she acted sluggish which is not like her at all. They checked for bacterial and viral infections but both came up negative. Right before I left she lost her lunch and filled her diaper at the same time. She seemed to feel better after that. The worst part about her getting sick is watching her panic because she's choking and can't breathe. The nurses have to really be careful and watch that she doesn't asperate.

Ellie did gain 30 grams tonight (1/2 an ounce approx), so that's a good healthy weight gain. We didn't get to play today because she just felt too yucky. But I did hold and rock her for a while. I hope she's feeling better tomorrow.



I look cute, but I feel awful.


This is the cute poster the Child Specialists made for Ellie. It hangs on the wall by her bed. It's hard to read, but it tells fun things about her. Things like her nickname, her siblings, what she likes to play with, how to calm her down, and things that bug her. It's kind of hard to read in the picture though.
