Cracking the Ellie Code

I feel like we're living in a book where there is a treasure to find or a code to crack and we have to figure out all the clues before we can get to the treasure. All the pieces have to fit together just so before we solve the mystery. A glitch in the works can blow up in your face. Ellie's health ducks have to be in a well ordered row and quacking in unison before she can come home. The frustrating part is I'm not the one who gets to be the brilliant heroine. I am ditzy sidekick who stands to the side looking and feeling clueless. I just get to be the comic relief and let everyone else look really intelligent. The doctors can analyze all the bits and pieces, and Chad can follow it all and converse in their lingo. I'm the one who bases everything on emotion and I just want it solved so I can have my baby.

The upper GI test showed that she has mild reflux, so she should be able to grow out of it. Dr. Molly said that she is comfortable with Ellie going home with the NJ tube in and that she would do follow ups in clinic with her. Ellie is getting another echocardiogram next Wednesday. Hopefully it will tell us good things so she can come off the carvedelol. Her liver enzymes are coming down a little more too. Dr. Miner, who is the Attending Physician this time around, thinks that a combination of the TPN and not getting enough blood flow to her liver to start with may be why it's taking so long for Ellie's liver to heal. There are a few more tests they want to run on her liver and kidneys to make sure they're not missing anything. We're getting closer!

Side note: Phyllis found a dimple on my baby's cheek today. I wasn't quick enough with the camera to get pictures, but it's there!

All in favor of Ellie going home say "Aye"

I could be America's Next Top Model.

You must have been a beautiful baby....

Speaking of ducks, they add a nice glow to offset my golden tan.

Daddy time.

I'm a big girl now! I can sit up strong with help!

She's getting cuter by the day, Sis, if that's possible.
