Something important?

I find it incumbent upon myself to say something important whenever I blog. This would be the reason, you may have noticed, that Teri has been doing all the blogging of late.

I would like to first thank all of those at CaseData that tried to give blood today and those that succeeded. I realize that I am biased, but I cannot think of a better cause. For all those that were squeamish, talk to Tara and give next time, she came through with flying colors.

Ellie's billiruben count is at 6.4 today, down from 7. This is good, but you can still see the jaundice in her skin and eyes.

You will also notice no doubt, that she has two tubes in her nose. (kinda hard to miss, huh)
The one in her left nostril is her NG (Nasogastric) tube. This goes through her nose (naso) into her stomach (gastric). The other is an NJ (Nasojejunal) tube. Also nasal, this terminates at the top of her small intestine or jejunum. She has had such emesis lately that the doctors wanted to bypass the stomach (nj), and she has had such acid reflux that the doctors wanted to pull out the acid(ng).

Otherwise she is doing very well, she is acting just like a baby her age should act. Despite the fact that she tires very easily, she is awake and alert for most of the day and sleeps most of the night. She loves the little toys in her bed. We have quite a few now. Including, the apple, the bug, and the mobile, pony and mirror, seen here.

A more spoiled child you will never find. I want her home so badly.

They have to figure out what is going on with her funky liver and she has got to keep her food down consistantly. Her acid reflux is better, but she is still very gaggy and will sometimes retch.
