Mommy has bad timing
When I got to the hospital today, the nurse told me that Ellie had just fallen asleep ten minutes before I got there. Before that, she had been awake for 2 hours. Then I left at 5:30 to go across the hall for 15 minutes, came back, and the nurse told me that I had just missed Ellie being awake again. The little punk. So all I got were closed eye pictures today. Daddy does much better catching her awake than I do.
Happy news on the feeding front. Ellie is tolerating 13 cc's every 4 hours with NO RESIDUALS! That means she's absorbing all the food. If she does well again with her 9:00 feeding, they will up her intake to 15 cc's every 4 hours. Hopefully, she will continue to do well with this.
She also finally broke the birthweight barrier.... It just took her a month to get it back. Ellie is just shy of 5 lbs 14 oz. She was 5 lbs 13 oz when she was born. Granted the 130 grams she gained tonight might be water retention, but we'll take what we can get :)
The buzz today is that the powers that be want to do the liver biopsy and the cholangiogram on Monday. They actually wanted to do it today, but Dr. Molly wasn't in. I'm kinda glad, because then Phyllis will be there on Monday to take Ellie down for the surgery. She knows Ellie best of anyone down there. The cardiologist agreed to the procedure if they use the anesthesiologist that works on kids who go through open heart surgery. That way it will be someone who knows how to take care of kids with heart problems.

Good luck tomorrow! We're all pulling for you, Ellie! Be a Lewis woman!
Aunt Susan
She's a Lewis woman alright, diplomatically avoided the problem. ;)
