PDA update
Today was a pretty good day. Elizabeth had her echocardiogram before I got there, so I was able to get the update on her when they did rounds. Her PDA is completely closed now, and she is staying stable. The doctors are encouraged that she is doing as well as she is. Her heart still isn't improving very fast, but they are still hoping that she will continue to slowly improve. She is now getting 12 cc's (almost half an ounce) of breastmilk through her feeding tube, and when I go in tomorrow I get to work with her on learning how to latch on.
I got to hold my baby TWICE today. The first time for 45 minutes, the second time for a little over an hour. It was so nice to get to hold her and rock her. She is such a sweetheart!
One thing the nurse was concerned about today was that Ellie's temperature kept fluctuating. If she gets too warm, her heart rate goes up, which is bad for her heart.
